Sangolli rayanna is rebel freedom fighter born to Bedara Nayaka(Valmiki) Caste. He strive hard to save Kittur kingdom from British. Ultimately hanged by Britishers. All Karnataka proud of this freedom fighter.

Many Britishers wrote their books about caste of Sangolli rayanna belongs to. He belongs to Bedara Nayaka Caste. In 1850, James Cambell written birth hisory of Rayanna, he has said Rayanna belongs to Bedara Nayaka tribe, hunting community.

In 1983, British Gazetteer, 3rd part 199 page, its well documented Rayanna belongs to Bedara Nayaka community.
